why

After visiting SEA several times and South/central America a couple a wanted to visit something really different.  From all of the countries of Africa Namibia was always in my bucket list.

when

7 to 27 of November 2016 I was traveling with an overland truck I was in Nambia from the 7 to the 17th of November.

Literature & Films

  • DON'T RUN, Whatever You Do: My Adventures as a Safari Guide from Peter Allison.  A really funny book perfect to read if you are going on a Safari.

Did you know...

  1. You can use either the Namibia Dollar or the South African Rand. Both have the same value, rand will be easier to change once you get out of Namibia
  2. Namibia is the second least densely populated country in the world.  It has a population of 2 million in a country that is twice the size of California.
  3. Namibia was a German colony, then captured by South Africa in World War I.  It became independent in 1990.

Namibia is the second least densely populated country in the world.  It has a population of ~2 million in a country that is twice the size of California.  This country has a truly unique landscape; and is home to some of the most beautiful desert plains and sand dunes. There are also several game reserves where you can find wild life.

To discover Namibia I did 2 different tours:

  • Sossusvlei Camping 3d/2n with Wild dog safaris (http://www.wilddog-safaris.com/)
  • Desert & Delta - North 14 day from Swakopmund to Vic Falls with Nomad Africa adventure tours (https://nomadtours.co.za/)

I can highly recomend both of them.
