Macedonia

Macedonia travel guide from Bradt (first time that I used this editorial, like it a lot, they have lot of guides of Eastern Europe)

1. The official name of Macedonia in the United Nations is the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, or FYROM. This is due to a long dispute the country has with Greece regarding their history as the former Kingdom of Macedonia.
2. The Republic of Macedonia has been a candidate for accession to the European Union since 2005 but has not yet entered because the ongoing objection by Greece over the country's name
3. Macedonia was one of the only countries during the breakup of Yugoslavia to remain at peace throughout.
